Well Overdue Recordings tasked me to create a social media teaser and spotify canvas animation. The label tends to produce digital 2D animations in AfterEffects using the album artwork layers. However, due to the artwork being analog paper collage, I suggested we create the animation by hand as well. I used paint on wood to create an interesting textured background. I then printed out the actual album artwork and cut out the letters, using them to create the animation.

The entire process from idea generation to final video export had to happen in one work day with the office’s limited materials as we were on a tight schedule approaching the song’s release date.
