San Francisco Cable Car Museum Redesign

January 2020
Designed in collaboration with Amanda Tiong and Tina.

As a native San Franciscan, I know how important the cable cars are to our city’s history. The cable cars are an iconic symbol of San Francisco and play an extremely important part to our identity to the world.

I had never heard of the San Francisco Cable Car Musuem prior to starting this design but once I learned everything it had to offer I fell in love with it’s charm.

I decided to rebrand their image in a way that I felt would help them receive the attention they deserve as the website and visual identity was very outdated.

While designing the logo, I took inspiration from the shape of the city streets as well as the hills it is known for. I wanted to highlight the fact that these vehicles miraculously climb up steep hills.

With my group members, created a new brand identity including fun visual imagery and designed potential merchandise for the museum. We also created a mock-up of a website and new brochures.
